Welcome to the heart of our church’s outreach –

Our Missions

At Shiloh Church we believe in the transformative power of faith in action. Our missions are not just initiatives; they are a testament to our commitment to spread love, hope and compassion throughout our local, national and global communities. Join us on this incredible journey of faith and service as we strive to make the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time.

At Shiloh Church, our mission is “Living the Word by Serving the World”. We seek to glorify God by reaching out to those in need, sharing the message of Christ’s love, and nurturing a spirit of compassion, unity and hope in our community and beyond.

We firmly believe in supporting our local community:

To this end, we sponsor the Shiloh Food Pantry, seeking to serve directly those needing food assistance in our neighborhood. Likewise, we support two other pantries, Northmont FISH and Agape Food Pantry, by collecting food and donating financial resources as well as providing volunteers, funding and cold weather items for patrons at the House of Bread, a local soup kitchen. We also support the Dayton Foodbank.

Each year we sponsor financially the repair and rebuilding of a house for a low-income homeowner through Rebuilding Together Dayton and provide skilled supervision and volunteers to accomplish this task.

We support our neighborhood school, Valerie Elementary, with numerous school supplies and volunteers as requested for special projects.

Each year Shiloh sponsors a charity golf outing and auction to raise funds for local organizations serving the community.

We seek to address homelessness in our area by collecting hygiene items for those staying at the St. Vincent de Paul and Homefull shelters and by providing financial support for St. Vincent de Paul, Homefull and the Samaritan Homeless Clinic.

Each year we are one of the sites for the Day of Caring Pancake Brunch, which raises funds to fight hunger and homelessness in a several-county area.

Shiloh also contributes to the Artemis Center for Alternatives to Domestic Violence, Easter Seals Goodwill Adult Daycare, For Love of Children, Hospice of Dayton, the Ronald McDonald House, Shriners Children's of Ohio in Dayton Children’s and YWCA Shelter Services to support their community services.

National and International Missions allow Shiloh to share the message of God’s love in a variety of ways:

Each year a mission team travels to an area of chronic need or to a disaster area. Often Shiloh’s team participates in the Appalachia Service Project to work on roofs, bathrooms, siding and other repairs or first-time installation projects.

Each year Shiloh Church hosts the Dayton Area CROP Hunger Walk to raise funds in cooperation with other churches for local, national and international hunger causes

Each Advent Shiloh members raise funds for at least one Ark of animals for Heifer International, providing animals, seeds and training for impoverished communities around the world

We sponsor the Trigo y Miel Project in Oaxaca, Mexico, which provides food, education and healthcare for poor children.

When natural disasters strike, we stand ready to help:

We purchase blankets for emergency use through the Church World Service Blanket Sunday program as well as contributing financially to CWS disaster relief and One Great Hour of Sharing.

We contribute financially to the American Red Cross and other organizations that respond to wildfires, hurricanes and tornadoes in the U.S.

We provide general support for the International Rescue Committee as well as specific support for international disasters such as the war in Ukraine, the conflict in Gaza and Hurricane Melissa.

We contribute to Doctors without Borders so they can provide emergency healthcare in war-torn places and ongoing medical care like vaccinations and maternal healthcare in areas where the population is vulnerable.
