Jay McMillen

Senior Pastor

Email Jay

Greetings, I am Pastor Jay D. McMillen, Senior Pastor of Shiloh Church UCC, in Dayton, Ohio. I have served Shiloh on the Pastoral Staff since January of 2001. My journey has been one of much joy and conviction for what I am called to do in the world. My schooling consisted of 5 years of Lay School through the United Church of Christ having received my license for ministry in 2006. I have many joys in my ministry and call to serve. My focus is guided each and every day by leading in ways that bring us all into a closer relationship with God.

There is so much life around us and the foundation is strong with Shiloh Church, UCC.

I was born and raised in Englewood, Ohio and graduated from Northmont High School in 1993. Growing up right here in Northern Montgomery County has been a true blessing for me and my family. My wife Dawn, raised in Defiance, Ohio, is a blessing to my life and we share two adult children, Ashton and Makenzie. Both are growing into remarkable young ladies and we are so overjoyed to spend time with them and see them flourish. My hobbies include going to the golf course, a game I love to play, being with friends, and most of all just being around people. No matter the setting I love to be in a place and meet new people and connect. I enjoy watching anything sports, golf, football, baseball and some basketball. People who really know me realize my love of The Ohio State University football team, where I bleed Scarlet and Gray.

My hope and prayer for all who might read this is to always remember we are all one, in the spirit. As a community we can do remarkable things when we work together for ministries of justice and equality, serving the needs of those around us to simply make their lives better. I hope you will join us at Shiloh where we “Live the Word, by Serving the World.”
