Covid-19 Safety Protocols

A Message From the Leadership & Staff of Shiloh Church

In planning for returning to the church, we encourage individuals to consider their own health and make appropriate decisions to assure their own safety.  If you are a person who is at particular risk if exposed to COVID-19, we encourage you to weigh the risk and benefit of returning to the Shiloh facility at this time.  At this time, we will not have an 8:30 a.m. or 7 p.m. service. We will continue to offer the Worship service on Shiloh.org and on Facebook with a service available on Sunday morning that will be prepared in advance.   If you do not have access to these services on the internet, please notify the church office so that we may get you a DVD or CD copy of the service.

If your health allows you to return to church for in-person worship, please rest assured that we are following all recommended safety precautions to mitigate risk and help slow the spread of COVID-19.  All areas will be sanitized prior to service time.  We respectfully ask that you consider the health of your church family and follow the guidelines set forth by Pastor Jay and the Executive Committee of Shiloh.  They are as follows:

  • Enter the building through the Macy Street Entrance or the Circle Drive Entrance. Additional entrances will be locked.

  • Be prepared to have your temperature checked at the door. Those with temperatures over 100 or those who have concerning symptoms will be given a special blessing and asked to return home.

  • We will require you to don a mask while in transit to your seat in the Sanctuary.  This is to decrease risk of transmission of virus when we cannot assure physical distancing.  If you feel that this is not something you can do, we encourage you to continue worshiping at home.  If you find that this is not something you can do upon arriving at church, please ask for assistance so that we can direct you appropriately.  We encourage you to wear your own mask, but if you do not have one, we will provide you with a mask at the door.

  • Please plan to move toward the Sanctuary directly after entering the building.  We will not have a hospitality table for the time being to help decrease risk of passing the virus.  If you require a beverage or snack before or during worship, please plan to bring this with you in an appropriate protective container.

  • The Offering Basket will be positioned at the entrance to the Sanctuary and will not be passed during worship.  Please plan to leave your Offering on your way in or out of the Sanctuary.  We thank you for your gift!

  • Worship Bulletins will also be available to be picked up prior to entering the Sanctuary. Ushers will not pass these out to avoid unneeded contact.

  • Upon entering the Sanctuary, please move toward a seat.  We will arrange chairs and close off pews to assure physical distancing in the sanctuary.   Please abide by these arrangements.

  • While in the Sanctuary, you may move about as long as you continue to don your mask.  Do your best to keep your physical distance of 6 feet, however as we know that we will not be perfect, our faithful use of the mask will help to protect us.

  • We expect that once all are positioned safely in the Sanctuary, you can remove your masks for Worship if you feel that you cannot comfortably keep it on.  Please cover unmasked coughs in your elbow.  Don your mask while singing hymns.

  • At the end of the service, we will exit one row at a time to avoid crowding in the Narthex. You are asked to don your mask until you exit the building.

  • Should you need to use the restroom, please don your mask while you are in the common area of the restroom.  Be sure to wash your hands after using the toilet.

  • Hand sanitizing stations are positioned near the entrances of the building and the Sanctuary.  Please use the sanitizer as needed.  Remember, don’t touch your face unless your hands are clean.

  • We will be sanitizing all areas after the service in preparation for next building use.  If you would like to be part of the Sanitizing Team, please notify the church office.

We appreciate your willingness to follow these guidelines to keep us all as safe and healthy as possible.

Remember the New Golden Rule: Do for others as you would have them do for you!

SEE YOU SUNDAY, at 10:25 a.m.!!!
