Martha Kirkland, Assistant Director of Music Martha has been a church organist for many years, beginning when she was 16 years old. She played at Otterbein U.M. Church for 20 years and then was called to be the organist at Vandalia U.M. Church for another 15 years. After retiring,
she visited Shiloh U.C.C., joined the choir and subsequently the
church also. She helps out in
Martha teaches piano lessons from her home in Butler Township where she resides with her two cats, BJ and Joey. She was formerly part owner of Theis Farms in Vandalia, The Waterwheel Farm in Union and Superior Beef in Dayton. She has two sons, Dick and Bob Theis and a daughter, Connie Sowry. Stepchildren Yvonne Core and Jack Kirkland, Jr., eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren round out the family. Kiser High School is her alma mater and she attended Sinclair Community College. Martha enjoys sewing, embroidery, cooking, reads mysteries and likes to work all kinds of word puzzles.
