Carl Robinson, Senior Pastor Carl Eugene Robinson was born,
raised and educated in the small farming community of Bremen, Indiana, located
just south of South Bend. He graduated cum laude from Indiana University,
with majors in philosophy and political science, and Eden Theological Seminary,
which is located in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. Carl was ordained into the
Christian ministry on May 31, 1987. He has served three congregations: Zion UCC,
Junction City, Kansas, 1987 through 1992; Christ Church UCC, Evansville,
Indiana, from 1993-2000, and has been Sr. Pastor here at Shiloh Church UCC since
August of 2000. Carl is married to Lisa Jean (Crockett), a distant descendant of the famous frontiersman. Lisa was serving as nursery coordinator and youth sponsor at her home church, St. John’s UCC, Wood River, Illinois, when Carl was selected as that congregation’s student pastor. The congregation, and particularly its youth, helped Carl and Lisa find and fall in love with one another. They were married on January 18, 1986. Carl and Lisa have a daughter, Casey Jane, who has graduated from Northmont High School, and is attending Sinclair Community College, pursuing a degree in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. Casey continues to be very active at Shiloh Church, where she serves as ASL hymn interpreter every Sunday and worship leader for the congregation’s 7:00 p.m. Discovery Time contemporary service. Lisa and Casey are invaluable in their support of Carl’s ministry to, with, and through Shiloh Church. Carl’s major interests include reading, particularly psychological thrillers, espionage novels, and mysteries, studying and promoting the Progressive Church movement, assisting local churches to grow into the emergent church, through consultation and guidance, golf, home improvement projects, and hunny-do’s. Feel free to contact Carl (email link) if you would like to know more about his background, education, family, or interests. If you would like to make arrangements for him to speak to or consult with your congregation or organization, please call Shiloh Church or e-mail. Go Hoosiers! |
